R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): This past Sunday several people who became members of the Catholic faith through the R.C.I.A. process, spoke at Mass about their experience of R.C.I.A. They gave witness to how they entered The Rite of Christian Initiation process, becoming Catholic through the Sacrament of Initiation and their continuing journey of faith. It is our hope that their witness will influence others to enter the process, learn about the Catholic faith and journey with all of us who walk in faith.
Thank you to all who prepared and gave witness to their individual faith journey. Steve Bambauer, Joyce Haworth, Holly Dobler, Joel Reginelli and Deborah Bloom. All came through the R.C.I.A. process at All Saints, with the exception of Joyce Haworth, who has served on the R.C.I.A. team for many years. A very special thanks, to Sherry White, also a team member. Sherry coordinated the Witness talks. Thank you, Sherry, for all your effort and good work.
Anyone who has been involved with the Rite of Christian Initiation process has found it to be one of the most life-giving and renewing experiences of their lives. From those who have come knowing nothing or have been misinformed about “Catholics”, to sponsors who have been raised in the faith, but may not have had an update since Vatican ll – all have shared that “something happened” in their understanding, in their hearing scripture, in their ability to pray, in their love of God and in the belief that God loves them personally and individually!
R.C.I.A is truly a gift of the Church today. Can you afford not to accept it, or offer it to someone you know? We begin the process, Tuesday, September 14. We meet in the Parish Center, Room, 3, at 7:30 p.m.
Please call Dottie Meyer, 792-4604, if you have any questions or think you would like to join us.

SCHOOL NEWS
This weekend the parish of All Saints is participating in the “Cemetery of Innocents” project by displaying 4000 white crosses in the front yards. The hope is to heighten awareness of the effects of abortion in one day in our country. If you helped construct the display, thank you! If you’d like to be a part of taking it down, come to the 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, September 18. Thank you for your support!
The eighth graders spent two very warm days at Camp Kern’s Leadership Camp this past week, participating in activities that challenge their leadership skills and encourage them to challenge themselves personally. Soon they’ll officially take over the leadership of the School Families.
Remember: There is NO SCHOOL on Monday—it’s Labor Day, a day to celebrate the workers who keep our country functioning. Please pray for the workers and pray for those who are without work.
On Tuesday, September 7, we’ll kick off the annual Magazine Drive after Morning Prayer. The students have a lot of fun selling magazines and DVDs while earning points to spend in the “Prize Store”. Families are encouraged to order and pre-pay on-line, but don’t forget to print off the order and make sure your designated student turns in the order on one of the turn-in days. Bringing back a completed “Postcard Book” will qualify a student for a Casual Day on Friday, September 10. See the flyers for complete details. Thank you for supporting this fund raiser. (We’re working toward a new copier for the faculty.)
Saturday, September 11, is Patriot Day. The students will celebrate with Peace Week, all next week. The Peer Mediators and their advisors have planned the activities.
Thank you for all the many ways you support this wonderful school. Please keep us in your prayers. You are always in ours. God bless you. Mary Stratford

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Father Dennis is encouraging the parish staff and volunteers to do “hands on” service for others. In this spirit, Father Dennis, Herb Wandstrat, John and Ginny Rush spent a day at the Walnut Hills Soup Kitchen. With a menu of marinated baked chicken, mashed potatoes, cornbread, fruit salad, tomatoes and cucumbers, there was plenty for us to prepare! If that were not enough, the Soup Kitchen coordinator found time for us to assemble 50 bags of groceries for people to pick up. We served lunch to approximately 200 people and helped bag about 200 sandwiches to be served the next day. It was exhausting, but we felt good about helping some people in our city. We, the staff, are looking forward to our next service day! Submitted by Ginny Rush
